Fundindo ficção especulativa e construção do mundo com críticas às propostas arquitetônicas contemporâneas para a habitação de Marte, este vídeo explora três mundos marcianos com entendimentos muito diferentes sobre o futuro do Planeta Vermelho e quem decide. Trabalhando com a ficção científica histórica e contemporânea, as teorias de Donna Haraway sobre as economias espaciais não humanas e emergentes como sua espinha dorsal narrativa, o projeto ressalta os aspectos limitantes de nossa linguagem de exploração espacial ao imaginar futuros alternativos para Marte.
Merges speculative fiction and worldbuilding with critiques of contemporary architectural proposals for the habitation of Mars, this video explores three Martian worlds with very different understandings of the Red Planet‘s future and who gets to decide. Working with historical and contemporary science-fiction, Donna Haraway‘s theories on the nonhuman, and emergent space economies as its narrative backbone, the project underscores the limiting aspects of our language of space exploration in imagining alternative futures for Mars.

O Observatório Cultural das Aldeias (OCA) foi idealizado após Cris Papion, sofrer discriminação racial e exposição na Internet com dúvidas e levantamentos sobre sua origem indígena e de nascimento. Saindo da depressão surge o Oca, onde um dos objetivos é fazer as pessoas repousarem em uma das redes e se identificarem com a questão indígena e da ancestralidade étnica. Assim é o Observatório Cultural das Aldeias, uma grande taba de direitos aos povos indígenas e a sustentabilidade com geração de renda para mulheres indígenas e urbanas.
The Cultural Observatory of the Villages (OCA) was idealized after Cris Papion, suffered racial discrimination and exposure on the Internet with doubts and surveys about her indigenous origin and birth. Out of depression comes OCA, where one of the goals is to make people rest in one of the hammocks and identify themselves with the indigenous issue and ethnic ancestry. This is OCA, a big taba of indigenous peoples’ rights and sustainability with income generation for indigenous and urban women.

Por diversas ocasiões, o garimpo ilegal ao leste de Rondônia foi tema de discussões junto ao Governo Federal, que nos últimos anos passou a ignorar as mortes provocadas pela situação. Além disso,houve uma aceleração na quantidade de queimadas na região, piorando muito a qualidade de vida dos povos. “A blockchain é a nossa arma, hoje, e a OYX é o meio de fazer e vencer essa guerra sem derramamento de sangue”, diz Elias. “Os povos Cinta-Larga e Suruí não aceitarão ser subjugados pelas políticas deste governo”.
Illegal mining in eastern Rondonia has been a topic of discussion with the Federal Government on several occasions. In addition,there has been an acceleration in the amount of burning in the region, greatly worsening the quality of life of the people. “The blockchain is our weapon today, and OYX is the means to make and win this war without bloodshed,” says Elias. “The Cinta-Larga and Surui peoples will not accept being subjugated by the policies of this government.”

Indigenous children dive, jump and float in the sky where only the “saved” could inhabit. The indigenous woman with her chest open carries in her lap a well-dressed child of her ancestry. The woman carries a weight on her head, the weight of reaching the heavens.

De lá, seguiu para as residências de mais 80 fotógrafos(as) que aceitaram transformar suas casas em câmeras obscuras de grande formato e capturaram a vida em tempos de pandemia. Cada qual com a sua singularidade. Conquistas e perdas. Anseios e privilégios. Medos e esperanças. O resultado é um ensaio fotográfico caracterizado por uma atmosfera sombria e enigmática, tal como o indecifrável futuro que ninguém sabe ao certo como será.
Obs-cu-ra. A series conceived by the photographer Bruno Alencastro from the 4th floor window of the apartment where he lives. From there, it went to the homes of another 80 photographers who accepted to transform their homes into obscure large format cameras and captured life in times of pandemic. Each one with their own uniqueness. Achievements and losses. Yearnings and privileges. Fears and hopes. The result is a photo essay characterized by a dark and enigmatic atmosphere, just like the indecipherable future that nobody knows for sure what it will be like.

The Sahara Desert covers one third of the African continent and is one of the most inhospitable regions on the planet. The region is dry enough to mummify corpses and kill bacteria. For centuries, the Sahrawis have lived under these extreme desert conditions.

The work “Occupation/Situation-Desire (or “The Little Glass”)” analyzes contemporary bodies/desires and their physical presence as well as digital presences in affective and love relationships. Through graphs of conjugations of feelings and situations presented by digitalized bodies presented in Augmented Reality, I question the affective relational practices of the third decade of the 21st century.

As três perguntas elementares de Platão são respondidas todas as noites antes de ir dormir na prisão de Viana do Castelo, Portugal. Um encontro entre um cineasta e um prisioneiro se desenvolve em uma reflexão sobre sua condição compartilhada: falta de liberdade. O detento número 70 não pode lidar com a prisão ou até mesmo fazer planos para sua vida lá fora, onde ele afirma se sentir mais aprisionado. O diretor tenta encontrar sua própria ideologia, abalada pelo preso que, aos poucos, se torna seu professor.
Plato’s three elementary questions are answered every night before going to sleep in the prison of Viana do Castelo, Portugal. An encounter between a filmmaker and a prisoner develops into a reflection about their shared condition: Lack of freedom. Prisoner number 70 cannot cope with prison or even make plans for his life outside, where he claims to feel more imprisoned. The warden tries to find his own ideology, shaken by the prisoner who gradually becomes his teacher.
