Em meu processo artístico na colagem digital, aliado as características fundamentais da collage, somado a uma insatisfação pessoal pelo apagamento de minha genealogia e memória familiar, fato recorrente na identidade negra brasileira, decidi, através de um processo de análise e pesquisa de imagens negras, reconstruir identidades a partir do resgate desses corpos tipificados pela sociedade branca do séc. XIX. A utilização da colagem para criação de uma própria herança, reafirmando a ancestralidade negra no Brasil como espinha dorsal desse país. Uma forma de existir com uma outra historiografia, com uma nova mirada para o passado.
In my artistic process in digital collage, allied to the fundamental characteristics of collage, added to a personal dissatisfaction with the erasure of my genealogy and family memory, a recurrent fact in the black Brazilian identity, I decided, through a process of analysis and research of black images, to reconstruct identities from the rescue of these bodies typified by the white society of the XIX century. The use of collage to create one’s own heritage, reaffirming black ancestry in Brazil as the backbone of this country. A way of existing with another historiography, with a new vision for the past.
